Setting the Foundation for Life

Young students love learning at WMAES – because our learning literally has no walls. Throughout the year, students move from classrooms to forests, computers to prairies, and science labs to wetlands.

Our students participate in water sampling, bird watching, plant identification, and a variety of environmentally-based programs, in addition to receiving quality instruction in traditional areas such as reading, writing, math and social studies. Other classes such as Spanish, art, physical education and computer technology provide further stimulation for each child, and creates solid groundwork for a lifelong love of learning.

West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science offers affordable before and after school childcare for elementary students. The program allows students to complete homework and interact socially with their peers.
