West Michigan Academy is the only area high school that focuses so intently on the rigors and rewards of science. Yet, it still provides a complete, well-rounded education for every student.
At West Michigan Academy, high school students select one of four Science Pathways: Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Studies, or Physics. The Pathway that they choose is interwoven throughout all fields of studies (e.g. language arts, social studies, art) and influences their curriculum for the entire year.
For students preparing for careers in science, the intense level of instruction they receive is unparalleled. In fact, before graduating, students at West Michigan Academy are required to earn more than twice as many credits in science than are required by the state. And for those students pursuing other fields, such as math, law, and liberal arts, the discipline and skills they learn via the science methodology provide a foundation for sound judgment, reasoning, deduction, logic and instruction that will benefit them their entire lives.
Our students’ graduate ready to enter college. In fact, some students are prepared for college even before they graduate thanks to programs that feature dual enrollment, advanced college placement courses, college credit and, in some cases, even early graduation.
