Middle School

We expect more from our middle school students, because we offer more. Emphasis on core studies such as language and writing, math, social studies, and science intensifies as we prepare our 7th and 8th graders for high school and beyond.

Students focus more rigorously on the Scientific Method – the collection of data through experimentation and observation, and the formulation and testing of hypotheses. Weekly outdoor science labs continue, and students are encouraged to take part in an after school academic acceleration program that allows each child to focus on a particular area of study.

In addition, broader course offerings such as Spanish and Environmental Science are introduced, and the early presentation of high school material begins. At this level, teachers and staff also take time to identify individual strengths and weaknesses with each student to ensure that each child not only has a solid grasp of the core curriculum, but also continues to receive the resources and guidance needed to advance.
