High School Garden Apprentice Program
Three high school students will be chosen via an application process to learn about organic gardening practices and to offer assistance in the garden throughout the summer. Students can earn Service Learning volunteer hours for their time. They will work together with Miss Holly and Mr. Shawn on Mondays and on two other days independently completing projects. Garden Club
Participants will learn how to plan, plant, care for and grow an organic garden by helping us at WMAES. We have three gardens to learn from and will have a fresh snack each week from the garden that you will help prepare. One week, it might be a fresh garden salad, or hummus made with our garlic, or bread or pizza made in our mud oven! Come to one program or come to all. Meet in the front garden at WMAES. **WMAES students attend all camps listed below for ½ price.** 1. Survival Camp Dates: June
26-29 Campers will learn survival skills and how our ancestors lived off of the land. Make fires, shelters, tools, work on mapping and compass skills and much more! Campers can choose to spend the night in the forest in their shelters on Thursday, June 28th with a noon pick up. 2. Ecosystem Camp Dates: July 10-13 Let’s explore the ecosystems at WMAES and find out who calls these places home.
