WMAES Teacher Hosted at ArtPrize

  • "My daughter graduated in 2012, and I was more than confident that she had all the skills needed to succeed in whatever she chose to do after WMAES. I am proud to be a WMAES Eagle Mom."

Dorothy Dorney, art teacher at West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science, is being hosted at the Open Concept Gallery in this year’s ArtPrize. The Open Concept Gallery is located in the Trade Center building at 50 Louis St. NW in downtown Grand Rapids. It displays experimental, historical and unique presentations of aesthetic, social, political and environmental issues. The main gallery is one of the most distinctive exhibition spaces in the city.

ArtPrize is an annual art competition held in downtown Grand Rapids, started by Rick DeVos in 2009. The winner of this competition is decided solely by public vote. This year, ArtPrize ends Oct. 10, and the winner of the contest will be announced Oct. 6.
