Your Preschooler will have an awesome experience at WMAES’ day camps designed just for little ones! Young nature enthusiasts will be immersed in the wonders of nature and love every minute of it. Parents, please stay for the first session.
July 11- Feathers and Fur
Little hands will enjoy using their sense of touch to explore feathers
and fur of various animals found in MI. We will learn about birds and
mammals and make some binoculars to find them in the field.
July 12- Bouncin’ Bugs
Learn what makes a bug a bug, sing a song, and try your hand at catching them in the prairie.
July 13- Fossil Fever
Fossils are an amazing discovery for any age. We will learn about fossils, and then go on a fossil search.
July 14- What’s Hoppin’
Animals hop, run, and slither - we’ll discover who does what, and see if we can find some tracks.
July 15- Itsy Bitsy Spiders
There is no reason to be afraid of these amazing 8-legged creatures. We
will learn why they are good for the Earth, and go on a spider hunt.
July 18- Dragonfly Tales
Dragonflies
start their lives in water and then fly around for us to see. Let’s
play dragonfly dress up, and then search for some of these winged
beauties.
July 19- Let’s Rock and Roll
Everyone loves rocks, especially when you find it yourself. We’ll go on a rock hunt and see what we can find - maybe a fossil.
July 20- Things with Wings
Birds, dragonflies, bees, and SQUIRRELS? We will learn about all the “winged” creatures and then on a hike in search of them.
July 21- Polliwogs in the Pond
Learn about polliwogs and frogs by playing a game, and then searching for them in the pond.
July 22- Mammal Mania
Lions and Tigers and Bears. OH MY! They are all mammals... let’s discover
through hands on exploration what makes mammals so special.
July 25- Ant-ics
Ants
are everywhere. We will find them, and learn about their special body
parts, and how they can make a flower turn colors. What? It’s true!
July 26- Little Gardners
Let’s get our hands dirty and explore the gardens at WMAES up close. We’ll plant, water, and eat some fresh veggies.
July 27- Snails, Slugs and Bugs
Let’s go out in the woods and find all these amazing creatures .
July 28- Prairie Plants
The
prairie will be in full bloom with flowers of every color. We’ll hike
out to the prairie and see what beautiful flowers we can discover and
see who lives out there as well.
July 29- Frogs and Toads
What’s the difference between a frog and toad? Come and find out and we’ll search for some in their habitat.
